Does Your House Need a New Vinyl Siding?

New siding is usually the right call when damage is widespread, the existing siding is near the end of its service life, or repeated repairs no longer make sense. Common signs include:

Cracked, warped, or brittle panels

Damage across several walls, rather than in one spot, often points to a full installation.

Loose or missing sections

Panels that pull away or blow off can expose the wall to wind-driven rain.

Moisture behind the siding

Soft sheathing, peeling interior paint, or mold near exterior walls can signal water getting past the cladding.

A faded or outdated exterior

When the siding no longer fits your plans for the home, new vinyl can change the look with lower upkeep than painted wood.

If the damage is limited to one area, a targeted repair may be the better value. We will tell you honestly which one your home needs, and you’ll be able to decide between siding repair and replacement.

Vinyl Siding Styles We Install

From classic lap siding to shake-style accents, vinyl comes in profiles that suit most home styles and budgets.

  1. Traditional Lap Siding
Clean horizontal lines that suit most home styles. Typically the most budget-friendly vinyl profile, with a wide range of colors and panel thicknesses.
  2. Dutch Lap Siding
Grooved profile that creates a deeper shadow line and adds texture while staying low-maintenance. Common on colonial and traditional homes.
  3. Board and Batten Siding
Vertical panels for a farmhouse or modern look. Works on gables, accent walls, or full exteriors and is often paired with lap siding for contrast.
  4. Shake and Shingle Siding
Cedar-look texture with no painting or staining required. Common on gables, dormers, and porch accents to add dimension to key areas of the exterior.
Available profiles, colors, and warranty options vary by manufacturer. Ask us which product lines are available for your project.

See Why Customers Recommend Us

Maverick Contracting LLC did a wonderful job on my new kitchen. I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend. They were very responsive, they listened to what I wanted, and helped me see a vision. The attention to detail is something that sets them apart from other contractors I looked into. They were reasonably priced. Overall wonderful experience and will definitely use them for future contracting needs.

Courtney Bowerman

Working with Kenneth from Maverick as our claim specialist in resolving our roof damage was very satisfactory. He provided transparency in pricing and the process of removal and replacement. The roofing team was professional and efficient in their work. We are satisfied customers.

Jillian Gillece

The Maverick team were great to work with and very efficient for my new roof installs. Two weeks from quote to install and it would have been an even quicker turn around if I had been available for the first install date they gave me. Also, the install crew finish exactly in the time frame promised and did a fantastic job with clean up. Roof installs can be messy work so I really appreciate this.

PROUDLY SERVING

Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia

Who offers vinyl siding installation services?

Vinyl siding is installed by siding contractors and full-service exterior contractors. Maverick Contracting LLC installs vinyl siding for homes across approved areas of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Whoever you hire, confirm they hold the license your state requires (in Maryland, a Maryland Home Improvement Commission license), carry insurance, provide a written estimate, and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
National cost guides generally place installed vinyl siding at roughly $3 to $12 per square foot, with many whole-home projects falling between about $6,000 and $24,000. Where your project lands depends on wall area, the number of stories, architectural details, panel grade, and whether old siding needs to be removed. These figures are national ballparks, not a quote. We provide a written estimate after seeing your home.
Nails are the standard fastener for vinyl siding. Installers typically use corrosion-resistant nails driven straight through the center of the nailing slot and left slightly loose so the panel can move. Screws can be used in some situations when the manufacturer allows them, but they must be installed with the same clearance and never driven tight. Whatever the fastener, it goes through the nailing slot, never through the face of the panel.
A professional vinyl siding installation generally follows this sequence: inspect and measure the walls, remove old siding if needed and repair damaged sheathing, install the water-resistive barrier and flash the openings, set the starter strip, corner posts, and J-channel, install panels course by course from the bottom up, and finish with soffit, fascia, and trim. Because installation errors can affect appearance, water protection, and manufacturer warranty eligibility, and because the work involves ladders and scaffolding, most homeowners hire an experienced installer for whole-house projects.
Many single-family homes are completed within several working days, though timing depends on the size of the home, removal needs, wall repairs, and weather. We provide a projected timeline with your estimate and keep you updated if conditions change.
Our installation is backed by a written workmanship warranty, and the siding materials carry their own manufacturer warranty. The two are separate. We review the specific terms, coverage, and registration details with you at your final walkthrough.
